Jim Croce along with his “one man band” Maury Muehleisen died about 8 months after making this video in a plane crash.  Croce died at age 30.  Croce had several big hits that were released post humous.

Sheb Wooley singing Hello Walls

Sheb Wooley was the Weird Al Yankovick of his time.  As his alter ego, the garden variety drunk “Ben Colder”, she sang remakes of famous country songs.  Her is Sheb  singing Hello Walls as Ben Colder.

Sheb was also a great character actor. He played Pete Nolan on “Rawhide” with Clint Eastwood and many other acting parts in television.  Sheb was a regular on Hee Haw and wrote the show’s theme song.  He is credited for supporting roles in over 60 featured films. He is most famous for his 1958 novelty hit song “The Purple People Eater”.

Sheb died in 2003 at age 82 from leukemia in Nashville TN.

Bonus: Willie wrote Hello Walls and it became a massive #1 hit for Faron Young in 1961.
